Senior Epic Cache Administrator

Job Description

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining Cache configuration, synchronization and maintenance of all application environments (test, training, development and production) for Epic applications.  This position works closely with application analysts, systems engineers to complete assigned tasks.


Principal duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring and ensuring the integrity of the Epic database.
  2. Daily operational activities including backup, system monitoring, troubleshooting and database journaling activities and error logs.
  3. Performance tuning, application and system upgrades, programming and enhancements.
  4. Coordinate data migration and batch interfaces.
  5. Perform environment copies/refreshes to support non-production environment activities.
  6. Create and maintain user accounts and printers with the application as needed.
  7. Participate in the implementation of new releases and software updates.
  8. Perform server side support for EPS and Downtime reporting.
  9. Monitor shadowing activities for reporting, MyChart and BCA shadows.
  10. Assist in planning, testing and execution of strategies to minimize down times.
  11. Experience with UNIX operating systems, preferably AIX.
  12. Preferred experience with SAN technology and how it interacts with UNIX systems.
  13. Identify and develop alerts for proactive monitoring and management.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  2. Epic Cache Certification(s).
  3. Strong skills in the use of PC desktop applications such as Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
  4. Excellent communication skills with all types of employees and management
  5. Proven experience in leading IT project management and systems implementations.
  6. Proven track record in leading successful project completion (on-time, on-budget, goals met).
  7. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously while effectively meeting all deadlines and budgets.
